The Mission
In this suspenseful game, there are 3 battles going on simultaneously: the attack on the Death Star, the shield assault, and the battle between Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader. Opponents choose to either be a Rebel Alliance or Galactic Empire player. The mission of the Rebel player is to destroy the Death Star, but first they must destroy the shield generator protecting it on Endor. The Rebel player must be careful that the Emperor and Darth Vader don’t destroy Luke, though, as that will tilt the game to the dark side.
The Empire player's mission is to defeat all Rebel ships before they destroy the Death Star. The Empire player must stop the Rebels from destroying the shield generator, and make sure Luke doesn’t destroy Darth Vader. ..or worse, redeem him and strengthen the Rebels’ assault.

Okay, onto this game: It is far from traditional Risk. There are three simultaneous 'battles' going on that play out with cards. Luke fights Vader, Rebels try to knock out the shield generator, and a space battle. My favorite thing is how much it plays out like the movie. You can make a lot of moves in space that alter the game, but it all hinges on getting the shields to the Death Star down... which in turn can hinge on Luke / Vader. The first time I played it with my son, I was about to kill Luke when he played the card to "redeem" Darth Vader, which gave him a boost in cards to play, which allowed his Rebels to knock out the shield generator, which caused everything to focus on the space battle. He won and destroyed the Death Star (it is okay to lose to your kids). It was pretty simple, pretty interesting, and plays relatively quickly. I am waiting for my micro machine upgrades to arrive, then it will be epic. :)
-Destroy the Bunker: You can either play as the Rebels and send a squad into the base, but you must use the dice to advance. As the Imperials, you can stop them by placing "stormtroopers" in front, and, as the squad advances (must roll three or so to pass, each number goes up each section you enter), one stormtrooper placed on a square will cause the square to be plus one more, so you must roll a number one or so higher than the needed number (its more explanitory in the game, sorry that was a confusing mess)
-The Second; Lightsaber Duel: You can either play as the Rebels, as Luke Skywalker, or the Imperials as Darth Vader. On the command cards for the Rebellion, you can either lightsaber fight, (instructions explain how this is done), and if Vader has 3 "lives", if you will, a special card can be played that converts him. Or, you can just kill him. For Vader, you can lightsaber fight, or rely on a lightning blast from the Emperor, which deals two "health" blows.
-The Third; The Space Battle For Endor: You can play as the Rebels, with the Millennium Falcon and three different types of fighters, or as the Imperials, with the Death Star, the Executor (If y'all don't know that is Vaders personal command ship, the huge Star Destroyer), and a flock of TIE-Fighters. This is the part that is played like the real game Risk.
Overall its a great game, and I would recommend it.

It takes a lot of reading to understand the gameplay but once you got it, it's a nice strategy game for 2. I would suggest you use a timing device to not let the game run for hours because one can spend a lot of time preparing the strategies. Also, the first time you will probably do it all wrong as some parts of the game doesn't really affect one side or the other.
The standard risk definitely offers way more strategizing, especially when played with 3+ persons, but this one is based on Star Wars :)
